It's been ages since my entire family has been together all at once. Too long, really. Thankfully, my brothers decided to change that, and found a wonderful beach home large enough for all fourteen of us in WaterColor, a surreal seaside community in the panhandle of Florida. While the week has flown by, it's been a great one, filled with lazy naps on the beach, laughs shared around the dinner table, sunburned noses, leisurely bicycle rides through beautiful neighborhoods, and way too much ice cream.
Since I'm leaving tomorrow, and because I feel I'm always better at telling a story through pictures than I am with words, I thought I'd share the following picture journal of our trip. Perhaps some of the photos might not be the most interesting, and there are a fair share that aren't technically perfect by any means, but they're how I saw the week here. They're the things that made me smile.
I tried to unplug this week - I rarely checked my phone, posted nothing to social media, and didn't bring my camera with me all that much. Instead, I wanted to just be here and not have my mind elsewhere. I'm happy to say I've been fairly successful at that, and it's simply been the most fantastic week.
